Ram Charan and Upasana Kamineni Engagement
On Thursday 02-dec-2011 night, for the first time ever, Ram Charan Tej engagement ceremony was telecast live in India. It was veteran actor & politician Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan Tej & Apollo Group of Hospitals chairman C Pratap Reddy’s granddaughter Upasana Kamineni’s engagement ceremony.
While the two sweet hearts exchanged rings, the young actor Ram Charan Tej’s fans and followers could enjoy the function on their television screens. Thanks to the multi-camera setup that captured the event, the online editing of the footage and the final telecast across various satellite channels in the country. A private event, only selected high profile guests were sent bar coded invitation cards for the event. However, the star did not feel like leaving out his many fans, claimed industry insiders. Thus the thought of a live telecast of the engagement ceremony.
The function organized by the would be bride’s family was held at Temple Tree farmhouse in Moinabad in the outskirts of Hyderabad. Moreover, the live telecast & the bar-coded invitation cards were not the only striking aspects of the event. The groom, Ram Charan Tej donned a sherwani worth Rupees 1.5 lakh and Upasana’s jewellery, imported specially from Brazil, was worth approximately Rupees 10 crore. Even the decoration was undertaken by a Thailand based company.
